Description
I bought this cooler for my husband because he is a truck driver and we live in Arizona and it is HOT here during the summer. He loves the cooler! He said it is the nicest cooler he has ever owned. .Lol! We had previously purchased Igloo coolers that plug in, but the cords didnt last and we were unable to find replacement cords that actually fit the cooler. I found this cooler and decided to give it a try and he loves it because it keeps his drinks really cold. All of his coworkers are thinking of buying one as well now.
Brought this product when it was sale. Had it in mind to buy for a while but was waiting for prices to settle down as was seeing a lot of variability. Finally purchased it before a camping trip and it was one of the best purchase decisions.
This is great product to have onboard all the time if you have a Tesla. It checks many boxes. If fits neatly in the rear trunk well with a lot space around it to ventilate. It charges with rear 12V port and can be kept on "all the time" with no significant drain on the Tesla battery. After keeping it in the trunk all the time, started realizing many benefits of it..
Groceries - The ones that need to stay in the refrigerator can be kept fresh and cold the while returning home. Say if you are on a long drive and see a roadside farm stand with fresh groceries/eggs on a sunny day. You can still bring them home just fresh without warming up in hot car trunk.
Golfing - I golf a lot and keep water, iced coffee and other "Beverages" nice and cold . Easy to bring on a round for you and your buddies. My golf buddies are impressed with this arrangement and now "expect" me to offer something chilled. Sorry bev cart ladies.
Camping - We took this on tent camping and it worked like a charm for all the days keeping stuff at 35 degree and fresh. Not having typical iced cooler was a breeze in carrying extra weight of ice, wet stuff when ice melts and empty the box at the end. You realize the value when you actually use it.
The product seems to of good quality, maintains temp well , is quite. I will know the reliability after some more use but so far so good . If you are a Tesla model Y owner it is no brainer to have it in the car all the time. Especially during hot summer days that you know you can reach back and grab something cool to drink without a pitstop. Cheers !!
I gave this to my daughter who lives in the very hot Southwest. She uses it for camping of course, but also for groceries, so that she can get her cold and frozen foods home safely. Shes had it almost a year with no problems.. Cannot speak to how long it will hold up long term.
Little bigger than I expected but coming in just the fridge alone has a good empty carrying weight, and even loaded down it is still manageable.
The fridge has a few different modes ECO vs Max mode and being able to adjust the temperature makes things better. Ive used the fridge a few times and keeps the waters cool and the Beer cold.
I throughly enjoy not having to worry about ICE, I have a Grand Cherokee and as shown In the picture I have plenty of space to load down anything else I want with ease.
The two things Im unhappy with are once the car turns off the fridge also powers down via the 12v plug in, which is understandable why but I wish there was a mode where the fridge could still stay cool while plugged in and the car off. To counter this I would just plug it into the Jackery or the external power supply BougeRV sells.
The second down side is the straps to carry the cooler are located on 4 anchor points around the cool which makes it hard to open the cooler while the straps are on. Not a big deal but annoying part..
Great purchase and cant wait to use it on camping adventures.
I bought this to use while camping for four days, I had it plugged in to a power inverter that runs off a deep cycle battery. It ran for about 16-17 hours before I decided to charge the battery. I was quite impressed with this, as I was expecting to have to charge the battery much more. It also kept everything nice and cool, which was great as I was using it to keep meat and dairy products from spoiling. The reason I took a star away is that I actually had to monitor the temperature periodically because, in eco mode, it had a tendency to go below freezing, which was frequent enough to freeze some of the items. .This isn't a big deal, I adjusted the temperature setting, but I had to set it higher than I theoretically wanted to. But I'm quite happy with this product, and I will definitely use it continuously and will likely buy another, bigger, model.
